Dr. Randa Antar
Dr. Antar is a Jacksonville native who grew up about 5 minutes away from Avondale Animal Hospital. She graduated in 1995 from St. Johns Country Day School and then went on to attend the University of Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the school of Agriculture in 2000 and then went on to get a Master’s degree in Poultry Nutrition. She then went to Veterinary School at Ross University in St. Kitts to obtain her DVM and finished up her clinical year at University of Florida. She was an Associate Veterinarian at Fleming Island Animal Hospital starting in 2006 and officially joined Avondale Animal Hospital in January 2022.
Dr. Antar enjoys seeing all types of species including dogs, cats, ferrets, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice, hamsters and chickens. She enjoys all aspects of medicine and surgery.
Dr. Antar lives in Jacksonville with her husband, Neil, and her two children, Lyla and Miles. She has a German Shorthair Pointer Lab mix named Oscar, two cats, Marlin and Mahi, and two chickens, Goldie and Chubby. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time at home with her family.
